Suction holds the skin before needle insertion
When applied, the device draws the skin against the tip by suction before inserting the needles. This allows use on areas where skin tends to fold, such as the eyelids and neck.
Pin count changes the treatment coverage
Three options are available: 1PIN, 25PIN, and 49PIN. More pins deliver heat across a broader area at once. The doctor selects the option according to the area and concern.

Examination
The doctor will assess your pores, acne scars, redness, any melasma, medications, and metal allergies. We will discuss the needle depth and energy level for ELLISYS SENSE and whether to include delivery of a treatment solution. We will answer your questions and explain what to expect on the day and the precautions to follow at home.

Preparation
We will remove makeup and oil, disinfect the skin, and apply a topical anesthetic. After the anesthetic has taken effect, we will wipe it off, disinfect the skin again, and confirm the treatment area and areas to avoid. If you feel any discomfort or have concerns, we will address them at this stage as we proceed.

Energy treatment
We will use ELLISYS SENSE to deliver microneedling and radiofrequency treatment according to your skin condition. We will adjust the needle depth, energy level, and overlap for each area. We will monitor your response and take breaks or adjust the energy level as needed.

Soothing care
We will check for redness and warmth after treatment and soothe the skin with cooling or a soothing mask. We will finish with moisturizer while checking pinpoint bleeding and the degree of stinging. We will also explain which symptoms to watch for at home.

Aftercare instructions
As a guide, makeup can be resumed after 12 hours. We will advise you to avoid friction, alcohol, and prolonged bathing on the day of treatment and explain how to contact us if redness, swelling, or dryness persists. We will address any remaining questions along with your next appointment and when to seek medical attention.

FAQ
Anesthetic cream is applied before treatment to ease discomfort. You may feel needle prickling and, in some areas, gradual warmth during treatment. Pain sensitivity varies; please tell us during consultation if you are concerned.
Treatment aims to improve enlarged pores, uneven acne scars, fine lines, sagging, and facial redness. Some people feel tightening from RF heat immediately afterward, while changes in firmness and texture from collagen production generally develop gradually over 1–3 months. Results vary between individuals.
We generally suggest 3–5 sessions at intervals of 4–6 weeks. Some people notice changes after one session, but acne scars and deep wrinkles are addressed through repeated treatments. The number needed depends on your skin condition and desired outcome; please discuss this during consultation.
Both treatments deliver RF heat from needles to the dermis. Potenza with a CP25 tip uses air pressure as the needles withdraw to push medication into the openings. ELLISYS SENSE has no such mechanism: it holds the skin by suction before needle insertion, then releases heat twice at different depths during one insertion (double shot). Suitability is assessed during consultation according to your concerns and skin condition.
Suction brings the skin into close contact with the device before needle insertion, allowing use on areas where skin tends to fold, such as the eyelids and neck. The doctor determines the depth and settings for each area during consultation.
Redness, warmth, and mild swelling often settle within several hours to about one day. Makeup is allowed after 12 hours, and soaking in a bath from the following day (showering is allowed on the day). An overseas study of wrinkles around the eyes (32 cases, three sessions four weeks apart) reported redness in all participants lasting about one day on average, and swelling in around two-thirds lasting about two days on average. Recovery differs with the area and settings, so use this as a guide.
More pins deliver heat across a broader area at once. The doctor selects the option during consultation according to the area and concern. 1PIN and 25PIN cost ¥29,000 before tax (¥31,900 including tax) per session; 49PIN costs ¥32,000 before tax (¥35,200 including tax). Three- and five-session courses and a three-session monitor price are available. Needle medication is charged separately from the procedure.
TriFill Pro does not use RF. Carbon dioxide gas releases adhesions beneath the skin, and medication is introduced into the released space. It targets deep crater-like acne scars caused by adhesions pulling the skin inward. ELLISYS SENSE encourages regeneration by delivering heat from needles to the dermis. The presence of adhesions beneath the depression affects treatment suitability and is assessed during consultation.
Treatment may not be suitable during pregnancy, possible pregnancy, or breastfeeding, for people with a pacemaker, metal plates or silicone in the treatment area, a tendency to form keloids, skin disease, severe diabetes, or autoimmune disease. Metal allergies are assessed during consultation. Areas with strongly inflamed acne may need to wait until inflammation subsides.

Our clinic obtains this device, made by "CHUNGWOO Co., Ltd." (South Korea), through a wholesaler in Japan, and uses it under the responsibility of the attending physician.

The physician will explain the approval status in other countries during your consultation. The manufacturer has announced that it obtained certification under the EU Medical Device Regulation (EU MDR) (certificate No. 2025-MDR/QS-026, valid from April 9, 2025 to April 9, 2030). This device has not received approval in Japan under the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act.
